Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!

What I'm Wearing
Gray Pashmina: XSRE ($8) | Earrings: ALDO | Necklace: Charming Charlie
Red Blazer: thrifted ($2.50)
Red Belt: old
Half Floral Asymmetrical Blouse: ROMWE ($23)
White Pants: F21 (gift)
Black Booties: BAKERS (my sister's closet)

So, it SNOWED! I don't think anyone understands my excitement! AHH!

I wasn't planning on posting again until the new year, but my sister helped me take a few pictures of my outfit after this morning's mass, so I decided I'd quickly edit them and post after eating and opening up my gifts.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it! Christmas has really morphed from what it had been originally celebrated for, but one thing that I'm glad stayed the same is the value of being with your family. I cooked for mine! My mom taught me how to make jollof rice & I can now do it on my own!! Whoot!!

I didn't ask my parents for anything because I know there are so many obligations that they have aside from getting gifts and happiness in the family is all I really need! In one ear and out the other though; my mother bought me clinque happy and my dad wrote me a check (both of which I'm extremely happy and grateful for)!! (My sister, Sarah, recieved Chanel No. 5, which she invited me to use at my will and BOY OH BOY I will take advantage of such an invitation! It smells beautiful!!)

I hope you all enjoy this holiday season with your families and those closest to you! And if you don't have anyone close to you, go out and make someone else's holiday season something memorable. Putting a smile on someone's face is clinically proven to put one on yours!

During the Christmas season, each of us hopes to receive at least one gift which we consider the "perfect" gift. Look within yourself; your gift is waiting.

Happy Holidays!!

*P.S. Noticed my new glasses?! I am in LOOOOOVE!

2012: Year In Review - A Compilation of My Favorite & Your Favorite Looks!

This year was my first full year of blogging (January to December) and I, personally, think it's amazing to look back at my past outfits and compare how I've changed and/or improved :). This has definitely been a great year of blogging for me. I accomplished more than I ever imagined (500+ Facebook likes, 300 GFC followers, and 60,000+ pageviews) and I can see Chocolate Laced growing more than it already has (this excites me!) Without further ado, here are my Top 10 Looks of 2012 and your Top 5 Favorite Looks this year!

Double Denim, Fur Lapels & Chocolate Lips

What I'm Wearing
Earrings: (gift from mom) | Necklace: Wet Seal
Fur Lapel: H&M ($17)
Denim Top: H&M ($5)
Jeggings: H&M ($5)

Chocolate Laced took a slight day off. As much as I'd love to be maxed out glamourous every day, I need rest sometimes, too!

Another short picture post. I actually took these myself right outside my room. If you look closely, you can see the remote in my hand. I had no pockets to hide it in. Hehe.

So, I am extremely excited to say that I've FINALLY found an appropriate brown lipstick for my complexion and for the size of my lips. I have very full lips and the browns I had ALWAYS made me look like I just stepped out of having collagen fills. Terrible. Just terrible. So, in order to avoid this, I just quit wearing brown lipstick. That is, until I found this: Cover Girl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Enamor (Color 250). CVS was having a sale (50% off) and I had no idea how it would look, but I decided to take the risk. And BOY was it worth it! It's name holds true! (I WILL be buying this in every recommended color. Cover Girl has an online ColorMatch quiz that sets you up with the best shades depending on your features! Take the quiz!)

Now my lips can be Chocolate Laced, too!! ;) Two posts in a row about my lips. What can I say?! I love 'em!

What do you wear on your off days?

A-Dress Your Lips!

What I'm Wearing
Peach Scarf: XSRE ($14)
Fur Lapel: H&M ($17)
Necklace: Charming Charlie | Earrings & Bracelets: CR
Cream Blazer: thrifted ($3)
Floral Denim Blouse: thrifted ($3)
Cream Belt: Wet Seal | Cream Socks: Forever 21
Magenta Pants: Forever 21
Brown Riding Boots: Matisse Footwear (my sister's closet)

The magenta of my pants inspired me to address my lips and, thus, dress my lips! I've been building my collection of lip colors and the fact that I was able to match the pants perfectly made me happy. And look how such a little touch adds so much!

I'm using a mixture of Revlon's Just Bitten Lipstain (Crave) and Just Bitten Kisssable Balm Stain (Lovesick). It turns out the the lipstain covers more surface area (I have some big ole lips!) and the balm stain give a more saturated color. I want them every suitable color! (I currently have four of each!)

I hope this inspires you to dress your lips to complete an outfit in the future. Imagine how red lips stand out with a black and white outfit or how nude lips can allow an outfit to really shine on its own! Play around with it! Find colors you love that compliment you and have fun with it!

My friend Jasmine took these photos for me and I try to have fun while I shoot, but it was so cold out! Jeez. I was glad when we finished in less than 15 minutes!

Hot Chocolate!

What I'm Wearing
Earrings: Charlotte Russe | Necklace: Wet Seal | Bracelets: gift
Cream Pashmina Scarf: F21
Cream Cropped Sweater: thrifted ($8)
Mustard Yellow Dress: Charlotte Russe ($10)
Brown Tights: H&M | Cream Socks: F21
Brown Wedges: Charlotte Russe ($16)

Yes. Hot chocolate! =D I could very well be talking about myself, but as you can see:
1) I'm holding a cup in every photo, and
2) I was freezing once I took my jacket off. No joke.

I didn't get to drink the hot chocolate though. I just held it for my friend, Erica, as she took these wonderful photos and it was a bit chilly that day.

If you look closely, you can see little flurries: white speckles of snow that started to fall right as I started to take my pictures. I actually can't wait to take snowy pictures. I've never been a fan of snow, but I love how pictures in the snow turn out! Hopefully it snows soon!

I've taken four in the past week. Now, I have one remaining final then I'm stress free for a month!
