Girls Just Wanna Have Fun :)

What I'm Wearing
Gingham Button Earrings: ALDO
Rings: H&M + F21
Bracelets: (gifts)
Leather Jacket: H&M (gift)
Dress: H&M ($5)
Skinny Belt: (came w/ a shirt)
Tights: Romwe ($9)
Combat Boots: H&M ($15)

I'm sure you can see how much fun I had taking pictures with this outfit. I felt like it was a little reminiscent of an outfit I wore before, but I absolutely love the silhouette of this dress. It's the combination of the leather jacket and combat boots that makes me feel like a little rockstar. ^_^

Double Denim Days

What I'm Wearing
Necklace: Icing
Earrings: gift
Rings: Icing & Charming Charlie's
Chambray Top: Calvin Klien Jeans from Macy's ($17)
Jeans: H&M (3 for $10, eBay)
Socks: H&M (3 for $12)
Herringbone & Leatherette Oxfords: Forever 21 ($25)
Pink & Tan Satchel: Victoria's Secret (thrifted gift!)

I'm not usually one for denim. I don't wear jeans often because I don't see them as flattering to my figure and they always make me feel under-dressed (and I strongly dislike that feeling). My friends all brace themselves for the days I wear jeans because it's that rare.

With this look, I made the ultimate exception and wore jeans as a top AND bottom. This might be my first time doing the double denim's cute.

90's Baby!

What I'm Wearing
Earrings: Forever 21 ($5)
Bracelet: Charming Charlie ($3)
Colorful Patchwork Jacket: thrifted ($3.50)
Black Lace Bandeau: Sears ($5)
Denim Cutoff Shorts: DIY Levi Men's Jeans ($3 eBay)
Black Loafers: eBay ($12)

What eras of fashion do you enjoy? I was watching Lean On Me (which has turned out to be one of my favorite movies in life) and, aside from the beautiful message of never having to feel alone while trying to accomplish something, the fashion in the movie was completely mindblowing. Seriously. Thank goodness for this movie and thrift shops because I can almost guarantee you that I'll be watching it over and over and finding outfit inspirations from it.

This outfit feels super "Lean On Me": Colorful patchwork jacket, thanks to thrifting, and the bandeu on the inside with high-waisted shorts. I really look like I walked right out of the screen!

Update: I love my new camera and I take it everywhere I go. Literally everywhere.

Everything Isn't Always Black & White...Sometimes, It's Leopard.

What I'm Wearing
Necklace: Charming Charlie ($6)
Bracelets: Shoedazzle (my sister's closet)
Rings: Charming Charlie (4 for $9)
Earrings: F21
Black & White Blouse: River Island ($12)
Black Pants: H&M ($5)
Leopard Loafers: Steve Madden ($30)

Like my shoes! Which I am completely in love with. Let me bask in the glory of buying Steve Madden shoes for under and arm and a leg. *basks in glory*

How's this for my first post taken with my very own DSLR!? Do you all like it? Is the difference appealing? Noticeable?

I also have my friend, Erica, to thank. I call her my assistant because she always helps me take my outfit photos when she can. Always. Who needs a cute boyfriend when you have an amazing best friend? (I'm not against the idea of a cute boyfriend, though! I just need to find one first...*cricket*)

This outfit made me feel very regal! A couple of my friends even went as far as calling me "Nubian" causing me to purpl' (which is my dark-skinned version of blushing. Hehe)

Okay, one more thing! I want to expand my blog so that it can reach its highest potential. The reasons I haven't really been able to do so thus far is because of time constraints but I don't want that to be an excuse anymore. I want to branch out to to street style, blog interviews, and guest posts. So, my question is, how do you all feel about this? Would you be interested in those expansions? ALSO, do you have any suggestions that will help Chocolate Laced rise to the top? I mean, I'd be nothing without you all!

"Those Pants Though..."

What I'm Wearing
Earrings: ALDO
Necklace & Bracelet: F21
White Tank: Charlotte Russe ($10)
Multicolored Harem Pants: Jane Norman ($19)
Brown Penny Loafers: H&M

We all have those items in out closets that steal all the words from our friends' vocabulary (and sometimes our own, too!) and leave them at a loss... these pants definitely qualify. I did get quite a few "those pants though..." comments. I thought the same when I saw them. It was love at first sight!

They're a bit big in the waist, but my little circle brooch fixed that right up and added a cute embellishment to the outfit, too. Oh, yeah baby.

Now, I kept mentioning a surprise and I'm finally ready to reveal it to you! After working super, super hard over the summer, I decided to invest in something that I would love and cherish for the rest of my life! Ha! Drumroll please...

I got a new camera: Canon EOS Rebel T3i (at an amazing price)!

It took me a while to finally take it out the packaging, but I'm ready to take on the world! One outfit post and street style feature at a time. In the next two months I want to be able to get another lens, but I'm definitely content with where I am now! I'm super excited for future posts!
