Leather, tweed, and boots... fall is right around the corner! Unfortunately, the weather did not comply with this sentiment. When I left the house in the morning to go to work, the weather was perfect! By 3:00 PM, I was starting to regret my outfit choice. The sun was beating down on me like I stole something from it. But, thankfully, by the time these pictures were taken it had cooled down dramatically.

I bought this top from work and I've been in love with it since I took it off the hanger (Y'all know how I feel about leather!). Although it is a bit on the expensive side, as an associate, I received a very generous discount that made the price right up my alley. :) I actually wore this outfit to work on this day and attracted a lot of customers to it! Many of them, however, were a bit less impressed by it on the hanger because it didn't come with my spiked collar. Haha.

Chevron Striped in Lake George: A Photo Story (& Giveaway Winners)

On Thursday, my friend, Adela, and I ventured north to Lake George, NY because we wanted to spend some time together before school started and before the idea of "free time" vanished from existence. So... you can kind of say we went on a date. :)
( WARNING: Photo heavy post ahead! Continue at your own will ;] )

Above: Adela's beautiful face.

Bright Purple Pants

What I'm Wearing
Earrings: ALDO | Cuff: F21
Chiffon Dress: H&M ($15) (worn as dress)
Cropped Pants: LOFT ($24)
Leopard Loafers: Steve Madden ($30)
Bronze Handbag: H&M

Purple, the color of royalty, creativity, and wisdom (among many other things), just so happens to be my favorite color. I don't recall how young I was when I made this final decision, but I do remember my favorite color fluctuating between red and blue for a couple of years...so it's only right that I chose the combination of both! Right? :)

It is believed by some (including me, at times) that the colors you wear can have a certain effect on your mood. I try to stay away from dark hues when I'm feeling down and these bright purple pants were the perfect pair to pick me up! During the shoot of my last outfit, I also discovered that I enjoy a blog shoot ten fold when I have background music going! So, I threw on my favorite Azonto tunes and did what I do best.

My friend, Denzel, (who helped me photograph this outfit a, somewhat, long time ago) helped me out again! And the cool thing is that he has a fashion blog, too! He is on the come-up. He's fairly new to blogging, so we've agreed to help each other out. He'll take my photos and I'll take his! You should check out his blog, too! Show him some Chocolate Laced Love! ♥

Don't forget to enter my giveaway if you haven't already! It's easy to enter and TWO will win!

A Lesson In Accessorizing + Ara Nicole Jewelry Gift Card Giveaway

Grecian Maxi Dress: The Limited ($18)
White & Gold Sandals: Dolce Vita
White & Gold Bag: Bebe

Lesson #1: Go against the "norm" and create your own rules of accessorizing.
Lesson #2: Refer to Lesson #1.

To me, accessorizing is any additional thing that goes into the completion of an outfit. That includes jewelry, purses, shoes, glasses, makeup and your hairstyle. When I bought this dress, I knew that if I wanted to wear it as often as I planned to before winter--four times, that is--I'd have to do something very different with it each time... so that my multiple wears would be 1) justifiable (by me) and 2) forgiven (by me, again).

This is my second time wearing the dress. And I only bought it last week. Hehe... what can I say? I'm in love. I feel like a goddess in it... but I digress. My debut of the dress was as is. I didn't over accessorize or put much thought into how I wore it. However, I decided, to take the dress out one more time and put a little... well, more than a little spin on it. I pinned the multi-strand necklace to the shoulders of the dress (which seem to be made perfectly for an adjustment like this) and I really dove head first into dressing the part of a queen, because that is exactly how the dress make me feel.

And what better way to complete a striking dress that I'm head over heels for than with these lovely "Love Struck" Earrings from Ara Nicole Online Boutique!? Both complimented the outfit, as well as my other jewelry, just the way I needed them to.

Thanks to Tamara, the owner of Ara Nicole Online Boutique, I have two $30 gift cards to her boutique to give to a pair of lucky readers! To enter the giveaway just follow the steps below and may the best ladies win!
