chocolate laced

What I'm Wearing
Scarf (worn as headwrap): F21 | Earrings, Ring & Necklace: ALDO | Bracelets: ICING
Denim Blouse: H&M
Mustard Skater Dress: CR
Leopard Belt: Talbots
Cable Knit Tights: H&M
Brown Leather Riding Boots: Matisse Footwear (my sister's closet)

I stepped way outside the box with this outfit. It isn't something I'd normally wear, but I decided to go for it anyway. A jersey dress as a jumper? Not my usual cup of tea--I was afraid the denim shirt would show too much underneath the dress...and I didn't feel the normal glow that I usually feel once I've put on an entire outfit. Maybe it just wasn't my day..but I decided to shoot and put the outfit up anyway to get a general feel of what you all think.

Is this a different look for me than what you're used to? Is it right in line with my "style"? Would you wear an outfit like this?

leather pants, cape coat

What I'm Wearing
Layered Scarves: H&M + F21 | Headband: ICING
Stacked Bracelets: Charlotte Russe | Chandelier Earrings: (my sister's closet) | Necklace: Wet Seal
Navy Collarless Coat w/ Cape: H&M ($11)
Cream Dolman-Sleeved Sweater: H&M ($10)
Rusty Brown Leather Paneled Pants: H&M ($7.50)
Penny Loafer Heels: H&M ($7.50)
Tan Handbag: Cole Haan (thrifted)

Usually when people think of "color blocking", images of a color wheel, reds, purples, yellows and things of that sort will come to mind. But who says you can't color block with neutrals? It's a safe way to start if bold colors aren't really your thing (yet!) and it's equally effective in exuding that ever so enticing "eye-catching" trait.

Now, these pants are my personal favorite. I don't wear them often because I'm afraid they'll tear and I don't have another pair (I gifted my dark brown ones to my cousin after having them sit in my closet, unworn, for about 4 months. But if any of you have a pair in black or brown, a size 4 or 6, and you don't want it, just throw it in the recycle bin that I call my arms. I will kindly do away with it for you ;] ). And (an added bonus) as you can see, I bought just about everything I'm wearing on SUPER SALE at H&M about a year or so ago. Whoot!

Also, God bless my Erica! It really was freezing out and she helped me take such wonderful photos even though we could both feel the blood in our fingers and toes freezing over. I bribed her with hot chocolate, though. ;) Not me, the drink. Hehe. I had some myself. Right before we had to bear the cold.

♥ Until next time! ♥

What I'm Wearing
Pashmina: XSRE | Earrings & Necklace: Charming Charlie's
Leather Paneled Black Peach Skin Coat: ROMWE ($45)
Sweater: H&M ($7.50)
Sparkly Open Cardigan: Old Navy ($4)
Pleated Leather Skirt: H&M ($10)
Tights: Express (gift)
Legwarmers: H&M
Suede Wedges: BCBG (my sister's closet)

So, what's with all the black, you ask? Well, I wore this out on my best friend and part time photographer, Erica's 21st birthday! Happy (bleated) birthday bestie!

I rarely wear all black, but when I do, I try to give dimension to the outfit by either adding a pop of color or by wearing a variety of textures. In this case, I did both! The pictures aren't all that great this time (SORRY!) but the pop of color is in my necklace, which none of the pictures do complete justice. It's fricking awesome. (And it was dirt cheap. I just forgot the price...my memory is failing me!) As for textures, there's leather, wool, suede, and even sparkly cotton!! Haha, I tried... plus, I didn't want my outfit to take away any attention from my beautiful Erica! I styled her outfit! Here she is in a lovely orange chambray button down from Old Navy and my Romwe cranberry asymmetrical skirt! (I did her hair and makeup, too!)

What I'm Wearing
Leather Jacket: H&M (gift)
Camel Sweater (worn as scarf): H&M ($10)
Necklace: Wet Seal | Earrings: F21 | Bracelet: H&M
Leopard Top: River Island ($11)
Black Pleated Dress: H&M ($26)
Mustard Belt: H&M | Black Tights: Express
Black Peep-Toe Block Heels: Charlotte Russe ($10)

Because the weather has been incredibly sporadic, getting an outfit ready that's completely weather friendly from day to night is not the easiest thing to do. This outfit came close!

You wouldn't believe it but my scarf is actually a sweater. Not too long ago, I didn't have a scarf in the color I needed for my outfit, but I did have a sweater in that color. So, thanks to an image I had seen many months prior on Pinterest, I transformed that sweater into my scarf! And if I didn't tell anyone, no one would have known! I'll create a DIY gif in the future (wrote a reminder post-it note!) so that you acn try it the way I do it! Stay tuned. :)

Thank you Erica for bearing with me and the weather as it gets colder!
