What I'm Wearing
Peach Scarf: XSRE ($14)
Fur Lapel: H&M ($17)
Necklace: Charming Charlie | Earrings & Bracelets: CR
Cream Blazer: thrifted ($3)
Floral Denim Blouse: thrifted ($3)
Cream Belt: Wet Seal | Cream Socks: Forever 21
Magenta Pants: Forever 21
Brown Riding Boots: Matisse Footwear (my sister's closet)

The magenta of my pants inspired me to address my lips and, thus, dress my lips! I've been building my collection of lip colors and the fact that I was able to match the pants perfectly made me happy. And look how such a little touch adds so much!

I'm using a mixture of Revlon's Just Bitten Lipstain (Crave) and Just Bitten Kisssable Balm Stain (Lovesick). It turns out the the lipstain covers more surface area (I have some big ole lips!) and the balm stain give a more saturated color. I want them every suitable color! (I currently have four of each!)

I hope this inspires you to dress your lips to complete an outfit in the future. Imagine how red lips stand out with a black and white outfit or how nude lips can allow an outfit to really shine on its own! Play around with it! Find colors you love that compliment you and have fun with it!

My friend Jasmine took these photos for me and I try to have fun while I shoot, but it was so cold out! Jeez. I was glad when we finished in less than 15 minutes!

What I'm Wearing
Pearl Necklace (as headdress): Express (gift)
Pearl Bracelets: assorted
Chiffon Blouse: H&M ($7.50)
Denim Jeggings: H&M ($15)
Pink Linen Blazer: Chaps (old gift)
Brown Oxfords: Bass ($20)

I cannot express the extent of how much I dislike jeans. Jeans are the sweatpants of my closet. They really are. Ask any of my friends. If they see me in jeans, the first question they're likely to ask is if I'm okay.

But I have so many in my closet! *leaves desk to count* Well, 19 pairs can seem like a lot to one person and a little to another, but that is a lot to me! (And that is only counting denim denim. Colored denim not included!) Here are a few of my tricks to feeling not so bleh in jeans:

How To Dress Up Jeans
  • Pair them with a lightweight blouse to add a feminine touch.
  • Add a blazer. Creates a wonderful shape that you won't get wearing a t-shit alone.
  • Statement shoes (and socks in this case) will always jazz up jeans!
  • Two's company! Pair them with a denim top in a different contrasting wash.
  • Accessorize! Let your jewelry, purse, scarf, etc. complete the look!
***Check out some of the ways I've styled my jeans in the past.***

Now, pick up your closest pair of jeans and sing in Beyonce's voice:

"You gotta let me upgrade ya!"

What I'm Wearing
Chandelier Earrings: ALDO ($4)
Necklace: H&M ($9)
Ring: (my sister's closet)
Cuff: F21 ($4)
Floral Tank: thrifted (gift)
Striped Maxi Dress (worn as Skirt): thrifted ($9)
Sequined Flats: Steve Madden (old)

I do this trick a lot. I have yet to purchase one maxi skirt (even though I really, really want one, I can never find the right one). So, just as I wear my dresses as tops (like I did here with my lace dress and here with my shift dress), I also wear my dresses as bottoms... this time using a maxi dress as a maxi skirt.

The thing is, this dress is a bit above my ankle when I wear it how it should be worn...making it not so maxi, so I like it better as a skirt because I can be in control of its actual length. All I do is pull it down to where I want it to be, belt it and I'm good to go. Nothing major, that way, if I ever want to wear it as a dress, I still can!

I decided to go the floral and stripes route while secretly wishing I was curvier so the stripes would accentuate my hips but, since I don't have any... hehe, I work with what I was given. :)

Oh! New hair! My cousin did it for me. She's really into hair, nails & makeup. Check out her YouTube page!

What I'm Wearing
Ivory Teardrop Earrings: ALDO
Gold Shell Necklace: (gift)
Hot Pink Polka Dot Blouse: Heritage 1981 ($??)
Teal Pants: H&M ($15)
Cream Oxfords: Crown Vintage (my sister's closet)

I'm a corn, what are you gonna do? The title of this post is my rendition of a Jay-Z throwback track that I, shamelessly, enjoy. Contrary to my title, I actually didn't cut the shoulders off... I bought the blouse just like that. Surprise! Hehehe...

I wore this outfit about a week ago to help out at the best elementary school in Albany, NY. (That's the yellow building I'm standing next to!) I wore the bralet underneath the blouse because it was a tad too sheer for a school setting, but the bralet fixed that right up!
