What Ondia's Wearing
Striped Dress: Marshall's | Studded Bow Belt: Her aunt's closet | Necklace: icing
Bracelets: icing | Flats: Macy's

What I'm Wearing
Blouse: thrifted | Pencil Skirt: H&M | Necklace: (gift) | Flats: (gift)

Many of my campers notice my sense of style and automatically assume that I'm some sort of a fashion model. Few of them know that I run a fashion blog. So, when Ondia asked me if she could be featured on chocolate laced, not only was I humbled, I was so excited to see how she would put everything together.

Ondia is an 8th grade leader of tomorrow. Not only is she stunningly dressed to impress, she has a beautiful and powerful mind. She's truly an ispiration. She writes poetry, dances, and is a wonderful older sister setting a wonderful example for her many siblings.

A lil' bit about Ondia

Name: Ondia Logan
Age: 13
Favortie Color: Blue
Favorite Item of Clothing: I'm an eclectic person so, sometimes it's lace... but then again, it could be denim or plaid
Favorite Subject: History
Hobbies: Step, Writing, Acting
Quote You Live By: "Learn To Live, Live To Learn"
In 5 years I see myself..as a student of a HBCU

At first, she didn't know how to pose but, with little coaching, she became a natural!

I don't know about you but I think she embodied chocolate laced to the absolute fullest. I loved her outfit so much that I asked her to bring it on a hanger the next day so I could add it to my closet (still waiting Ondia!)

This post was promised so long ago, but my closet has been expanding and what used to be a room filled with clothes has been downsized into a closet and two huge dressers. (Okay, maybe "downsized" isn't the right word..."relocated" is better.)

My last Inside My Closet post featured my shoes. Since I've made that post, I've stopped wearing sneakers completely. I've decided that the only sneakers I ever want to wear again in my life are the Isabel Marant's that will be on my wishlist until I finally acquire them. I have 4 oxfords, about 10 boots, 6 flats (I got rid of most of my old ones), 3 sandals, and many more heels and wedges (I'd have to count them to know exactly how many). That's just an update. Now, on to new business! My lovely dresses!

I counted 51, but that was before I did laundry and found a couple more hiding away so I'll say I have 55 (at most). Many of them still have tags on them (one has had a tag for over 4 years!) I think the only thing keeping me from wearing all of them is not having somewhere to wear them to...yet!

Here's a close-up of some dresses. The cream lace dress to the left is a beautiful vintage piece that my aunt gave me. She bought it from London and I have yet to wear it. It also came with a matching blazer which I've decided to wear as a separate piece because they're beautiful separately and just a bit much (for me) when paired together.

Another close up.

Of my 55 or so dresses, I have 14 favorites and of those 14 favorites, I've actually worn 9 out. (That's not a bad ratio, right?) Here are my top five picks from my favorites (this was a lot harder to choose than I thought!):

Hope you enjoyed another peek into my closet! The next Inside My Closet post will be featuring my blazers!

Stay tuned!

Hello again! It's been about three weeks since my first Inside My Closet post and I think that's a long enough wait! I wanted to do this post earlier, but I was waiting on a couple orders to arrive and now that they are all here (drum roll, please) it's about time to introduce everyone to my second favorite part of my closet:

MY SHOES!

I love my shoes but I think I have way too many sneakers. I had a slight obsession with Converses, Vans, and Keds while in high school. I had many more but I've downsized and hope to downsize a little more for some more flats and heels!

The Count
13 sneakers: 7 converses, 4 vans, 2 keds
2 oxfords: black London Rebel, cream Bamboo
5 boots: dark brown Bamboo, hot pink rainboots, Tan lace up booties, black studded Nomi, brown cowboy r2
8 flats: mustard Nine West, brown bow, bright plaid, denim RocketDog, red studded Carlos Santana, light brown SM, black sequinned SM, black peeptoe
3 sandals: white, black Hot Kiss, brown
2 sperry boat shoes
1 pair of TOMS

8 heels: black oxford heels, black JS pumps, black slingback CR pumps, gray peeptoe booties, silver caged Carlos Santana heels, black patent leather Dexter pumps, black floral Me Too pumps, purple RocketDog pumps
8 wedges: black caged Groove, nude snakeskin Micheal Antonio pumps, black strappy Paprika, canvas ASOS bootie, white strappy, patterned Qupid, nude strappy, striped espadrille

TOTAL: 50 pairs of shoes

Most of my shoes were gifted or handed down from one of my two older sisters. After counting all my shoes, I decided that my goal is to have 10 in each category listed above (maybe 5 sperrys and 5 TOMS combined instead of 10 of each of those.) I'm giving myself a year to two years to reach that goal. Does that seem reasonable enough?

Is 50 a lot? It sure doesn't seem like it. How many do you have (if you've counted)?

Hello everyone!

I've been MIA lately, I'm deeply sorry. There have been a plethora of outfits in the past week that I would have loved to blog about, but situations (like forgetting my laptop at work and having to work 11 hours in one day twice in the week) have not given me the opportunity to blog or even prepare a scheduled post.

A few days before my last post, I rearranged my closet (which happens to be a tiny extra room in my house; it's near my bedroom, too, so points for convenience!) and it was so clean and it looked so different that I had to take pictures of it! It wasn't until after I took the pictures that I decided I'd share it with all of you!

  1. Box of Belts - I have over 30 belts. Most of them I don't used/haven't used. But I keep them rolled up and color coordinated in that box. Sometimes they get tangled. Sometimes I fix it.
  2. Bags - Not super happy with my collection, I'm working on getting more colors and textures and getting rid of the pointless ones that remain.
  3. DIY Jewelry Hangers - I got the idea from several websites and they both took about five to ten minutes max.
  4. Shoes - Oh, I love shoes! Most of my flats are reaching retirement though.
  5. Jewelry & Pants - Yeah, a weird combination, but I'll explain later.
  6. New Stuff! - Yea, I leave them in their bags/boxes for about a week so I'm not tempted to wear them. I have so much stuff that I shouldn't be buying anything! But I hate to walk away from a good sale!
  7. Clothes - Six drawers full
  8. More Clothes - I have to double, triple, quadruple, (and so on) each hanger. So no hanger holds only one item.
I've decided to share my closet in different parts because it seems too big to share all in one post. So, this post is dedicated to the jewelry!

I used a picture frame and some plastic net-ish thing I found around the house to make the earring holder on the wall and I used cardboard, pins, and the fabric off an old pair of pants to make the necklace hanger. My bracelets and rings are stacked on a paper towel dispenser. The vintage container and porcelain container were found around my house.

I hope you enjoyed your first peek into my closet!
