What I'm Wearing*
Earrings: The Limited | Necklace: Talbots | Bracelets: ALDO | Purse: my sister's closet
Pants: Talbots | Flats: DSW

*I wore this outfit during the end of June, but didn't get to post it until now, so it'll count for July :)

After I did my June outfit roundup, I realized that I wore black in all but ONE outfit (and that's not a norm for me)! I love color and print and I tend to avoid black on most days but it seems that it accompanied me and my outfits more than I would have liked.

Now, black can be really chic... I have nothing against it at all--I wear black everyday with this beautiful skin I'm in! But, it such a safe color... and who wants to play it safe?!

Soooo, for that reason, I am presenting this challenge (to myself, my friends, my fellow bloggers and anyone else who is up for it) :

BE BRIGHT!

When you find black being your neutral of choice, replace it with another to brighten up your look (beige, ivory, taupe, navy, gray, or white).

If you'd like to be a part of this challenge (just for this month) let me know in the comments. Over the next couple of days, I'll develop some buttons, a link up and I'll think up some prizes to make this more fun!

Until next time!

What I'm Wearing
Necklace & Belt: Wet Seal
Earrings & Double Cuffs: diva.net.au
Sleeveless Cut-Out Back Blosue: H&M
Pleated Skirt: F21 (thrifted)
Colorblocked Bag: Tobi
White & Gold Sandals: Dolce Vita

It's more than just the double cuffs. I find that I try to bite off more than I can chew very often. With school, blogging, and many other things. Something in my mind tells me I can do it all, because I'm no ordinary woman. And only an ordinary woman would be unable to do more than her limit allows her. I want to exceed my limits... greatly. But it will not be easy. I will continue to be hard-working, determined, and, not to mention, fabulous all at the same time. I may not have actual super powers, but I will be great. (And you can, and should be, too!)

You wouldn't believe me if I said it, but I did not plan to do this Bloggers Do It Better (BDIB) challenge. It completely slipped my mind! But I loved my outfit today, so I asked one of my besties to take pictures for me! Different setting, see? I'm not on my deck, I'm on one of the campus' quads! And I just happened to be wearing an animal print! Yay! It all worked out!

School has been extremely stressful which is my reason for not posting as often as I want to. I'm trying my hardest to balance everything, but when you love one thing more than the other, you tend to put my heart and effort into that, right? Or is it just me?

What I'm Wearing
Leopard Scarf: H&M ($8)
Black Boyfriend Blazer: Material Girl for Macy*s ($13)
Necklace: H&M ($8)
Turquoise Bracelet: Forever 21 ($5)
Leaf Cuff Bracelet: (my sister's closet)
Cobalt Blue Blouse: Old Navy ($18)
Striped Shirt: Forever 21 ($6)
White Skinny Belt: H&M (3 for $10; $3 ea)
Turquoise/Teal Pants: H&M ($15)
White Leather Oxfords: Steve Madden ($17)
TOTAL: $93

This outfit is a little on the pricey side compared to what I'm used to! It surprised me when I added things up; I cringed a little bit. But I have a little surprise for you all...

I have my Afro back! Yup!

You ladies (and gentlemen) are all lovely and beautiful people! Thank you for following my blog! It's only been 4 months and I already feel and see the growth in my sense of style and the way I think when getting dressed. Thank you!

I really wanted to wear a dress today, but the dress I picked out wasn't as flattering as I would've liked thanks to the huge lunch and dinner that I ate yesterday! I hope get a chance to wear the dress for a later challenge. I think the dress for this skirt is an even exchange though. I love this skirt! It's just so... LOUD!

Day 11: I knew if I really wanted to stick with this fashion blogger thing I was going to have to embrace skirts and dresses in non-Church settings.

This skirt is comfortable, cute, and work friendly! Only thing is, I'm starting to think that pencil skirts are just not my thing. Maybe I could have styled this better, but I try to steer away from pieces that accentuate my invisible hips and booty. Maybe I'm just super self-conscious about it, but I felt like this skirt did just that! Is it just me? I really do love this skirt. Maybe I'll put a little more thought into the next outfit I wear with it.

What I'm Wearing
Earrings: Icing (old)
Cardigan: Love Couture ($10)
Tee: Forever 21 ($5)
Belt: H&M (3 for $12)
Pencil Skirt: Sov Scott ($5 eBay)
Bracelets: DIY red & gift
Watch: Fossil (gift)
Flats: Carlos Santana (my sister's closet)
TOTAL: $24

It started to drizzle a bit as I was taking my outfit photos. Luckily for my camera, it didn't last more than a minute. Hurricane Irene is leaving her mark!

Mixing prints (the right way) will always have a special place in my heart.

Day 3: Some girls go at it with gusto while some hide in the corner, whimpering (that would be me). But you can do it, I promise!

I'd like to think that I'm one of those girls that go at it with gusto. I found these pants on the sale rack of H&M. How they got there is beyond me. I didn't try them on before I bought them, but I knew I needed them. They turned out to be slightly awkward (I love a challenge). I couldn't tell if they wanted to be worn high-waisted with a normal crotch or normally with a dropped crotch. So I kind of gave them the happy mid-waisted median.

What I'm Wearing
Earrings: Forever 21 (pack of 8 for $6)
Top: (gift)
Pants: H&M ($7)
Belt: H&M (3 for $12)
Blazer: Material Girl from Macy's ($13)
Sneakers: Keds (secondhand)
Arm Candy: assorted
Clutch: thrifted ($12)
TOTAL: $50
I channeled the very inspirational blogger, Chomy, from The Cynic and the Wardrobe and let the colors take over my outfit and my wrists. I love arm candy!

I love how loud this outfit is! I mixed three patterns: The abstract pattern of my pants, the geometric/tribal print of my top and the subtle striped on my cuffed blazer! I think I did well.

I'm actually finding this 21 Day Challenge fun! Today started out on the colder side so I threw on a long sleeve. I wanted to wear a sweater, too, but I realized it would get hotter later in the day.

Day 2: For Tuesday, I am asking you to tuck. You can tuck anyway you want, but some part of your outfit must be tucked!

Here's my tuck!

Nothing too fancy about it. A simple front tuck. I just really love the colors of the outfit. This morning I went to Plato's Closet (again! Last time, I promise.) to sell my sister's shoes for BARELY any profit, and to use my $10 of $50 coupon. Sigh. You win some, you lose some. I feel like this outfit is a win though. Anyone agree?

What I'm Wearing
Earrings, necklace and bracelets: (my sister's closet)
Top: H&M (bought off my sister $5)
Belt: eBay (5 for $10; $2 ea)
Shorts: Old Navy thrifted ($4)
Flower Clip: Icing ($2)
TOMS: (my sister's closet)
TOTAL: $13

I've been feeling like I don't smile enough in my outfit posts. Sorry, guys. I get blinded by the sun which automatically furrows my brow. But here's a smile for all my lovely readers!
