What's a closet orphan, you ask? It's that lonely, abandoned piece in your closet that wears itself because you don't let it see the light of day. I had to dig deeper than an investigator to find a closet orphan among my clothes. I feel like I give everything equal love! To fulfill this challenge, I dove into my closet to find the Annie of it all.

Day 10: I want you to reach deep into the recesses of your closet and find yourself a sad, lonely closet orphan in need of some love. Maybe you'll find something that you can move into regular rotation or maybe you'll discover that there was a reason the thing was a closet orphan in the first place and you'll finally put it in the Goodwill pile. Either way, I want you to wear that closet orphan with pride and build a fabulous outfit around it!

Is it a good or bad thing that it took me HOURS to find an in-season closet orphan?! Most of my clothes are new, so those I haven't worn are more like closet newborns. So, how's a graphic tee for a closet orphan? I have so many of them and I've worn a good number of them this summer (not this one though!) for camp, but I never reach for them to complete an outfit.

What I'm Wearing
Earrings: Forever 21 (old)
Owl Necklace: eBay ($1)
Striped Cardigan: Gap ($6 thrifted)
Graphic Tee: (gift)
Bandage Denim Skirt: Material Girl for Macy's ($10)
Red Vans: (gift)
TOTAL: $17

This skirt is also a closet orphan. I don't remember when I got it, but I've never worn it before today. I like the design, but I've always been self conscious about the fit. It actually doesn't look too shabby! I paired them up with this striped cardigan (which is a closet newborn!)

I helped my friend move into her dorm today (yes, in this outfit! It's very flexible!) and it dawned on me... Classes start on MONDAY! I'm going to be so busy, yet still finding time to blog because I love it so much! I hope I'm able to do everything I set out to do. I'd REALLY love a 4.0 this semester (and this year). I was able to pull it off my entire freshman year, but I went to a different university... a smaller one. Wish me luck!

Mixing prints (the right way) will always have a special place in my heart.

Day 3: Some girls go at it with gusto while some hide in the corner, whimpering (that would be me). But you can do it, I promise!

I'd like to think that I'm one of those girls that go at it with gusto. I found these pants on the sale rack of H&M. How they got there is beyond me. I didn't try them on before I bought them, but I knew I needed them. They turned out to be slightly awkward (I love a challenge). I couldn't tell if they wanted to be worn high-waisted with a normal crotch or normally with a dropped crotch. So I kind of gave them the happy mid-waisted median.

What I'm Wearing
Earrings: Forever 21 (pack of 8 for $6)
Top: (gift)
Pants: H&M ($7)
Belt: H&M (3 for $12)
Blazer: Material Girl from Macy's ($13)
Sneakers: Keds (secondhand)
Arm Candy: assorted
Clutch: thrifted ($12)
TOTAL: $50
I channeled the very inspirational blogger, Chomy, from The Cynic and the Wardrobe and let the colors take over my outfit and my wrists. I love arm candy!

I love how loud this outfit is! I mixed three patterns: The abstract pattern of my pants, the geometric/tribal print of my top and the subtle striped on my cuffed blazer! I think I did well.

Yesterday was one of those days for me. Those days when you're not quite happy but not sad either. The indifference just lingered in the air along with the barely bearable heat. I was all set to go out and enjoy the weather, maybe take a walk in the park or something....

...but I didn't. INSTEAD, I walked around the outside of my house, smiled at the neighbor and passing cars and wondered why my life was such a bore! (It's really not this boring all the time. I live at home with both my parents and three siblings. It usually gets quite entertaining.)

What I'm Wearing

Earrings: Forever 21 ($2)
Vest: (my sister's closet)
Belt: (my sister's closet)
Dress: Heritage (my sister's closet)
Vans: gift
TOTAL: $2**

**I have two sisters. One is two years older than I am and the other is four years older. I do a lot of shopping in their closets. Of course, it's not really shopping, because I don't have to pay them for it. I find items that they haven't touched in weeks, months, sometimes even YEARS and I put them to good use! The funny thing is, they're not anything close to my size! I'm a toothpick, according to them, and they are as many sizes bigger than me as they are older! Thank goodness for older sisters!

Oh! One more thing! Thank you to my very first follower! Her blog is super cute, along with her haircut and fabulous prints! Thanks, Michelle!
