It's that time of the year again: summer camp time! However, I think I've developed a method to balancing two jobs and blogging. We'll see how well it works this summer :)

I call this my "Summer Staple Outfit" because every item is something I'd consider crucial for an effective and efficient summer wardrobe.

  • Floppy Sun Hat - Essential! Keep those rays away from your face.
  • Lightweight White Cardigan - Great for transitioning into cool summer nights.
  • DIY cutoffs & bright colors - Because... why not? (hehehe)
  • White Flats - Best season for these babies

What items are necessary for your summer wardrobe?

Until next time!

What I'm Wearing
Earrings: CR | Scarf: H&M | Ring: Charming Charlie's
Leather Jacket: H&M
Chambray Top: Calvin Klein from Macy's
Denim Shorts: thrifted DIY
Gray Tights: CR
Black Knee High Socks: F21
Combat Boots: H&M

I have been slightly "slacking" and opting for the more effortless style of dress: my casual comfortable "uniform", so to speak--This outfit is semi cute though... but, in all honesty, I just threw it on--I usually don't put much thought into my outfits, but when I'm wearing jeans, you can assume that I put absolutely no thought into what I'm wearing (unless told otherwise, jeans can be cute sometimes)... and usually, that is a consequence of poor time management that I have to suffer whenever school is in the picture. The crux: Do I take the time to look fabulous always or use that time to study, sleep, and just hope I look great when I blindly get dressed the next morning?

Well, I've come up with a slight solution for said problem: stop being so stinking lazy! It's easy to choose to do one thing over another... but who wants to take the easy route when the challenge is staring you dead in the face?

And so, I have decided that I need to stop the madness and continue to be the most fabulous person that I can be.

I have a surprise for the month of November! Stay tuned! I'll most likely announce it sometime in the week before the month starts! I'm excited!! You should be toooooo! ;)

Happy Halloween! I'm programmed to say that on every October 31st and not because Halloween is a holiday (technically, it isn't!) but because ever since I can remember, schools in America have almost screamed this greeting at the tops of their lungs with loud decorations, ghoulish costumes and cavity causing candy (I'll take the candy, please and thank you!)

What I'm Wearing
Headband: DIY
Stud Earrings: H&M
Peacoat: H&M ($15)
Black Fur Lapel: H&M ($3)
Long Pearl Necklace: Express (gift)
Fringe Dress: H&M ($15)
Tights: H&M ($1)
Patent Kitten Heels: Payless ($22)

Halloween, to me, is happy for two reasons:
1) Because it's another day that I get to experience and I'm always thankful and happy for each new day! and
2) I get an excuse to dress up creatively and not be considered weird for it! Why would I say no to that?!

I always DIY my costumes (I only started "dressing up" and trick-or-treating for Halloween when I was 18 (when I started college). I never dressed up or trick or treated prior to that. My freshman year, I was Thing 2 and one of my best friends was my Thing 1 companion. My sophomore year, I was a road. My junior year, I was a prisoner (no picture evidence! Hehehe) and finally, as a senior, I'm a flapper!

I got the amazing makeup tutorial from here and it really completed my look! Thankfully all the items I needed for this costume were within reach! My "cigarette stick" is a chopstick! :)

Did you dress up? If so, what was your costume?

Yes! Two outfits, two wonderful ladies, one post! The excitement is real, isn't it?! =D
I'll go first!

What I'm Wearing
Infinity Scarf: H&M ($6)
Taupe Cropped Sweater: H&M ($12)
Chambray Button Down: H&M ($5)
Skinny Cargos: H&M ($5)
Denim Legwarmers: DIY! (cute, huh?)
Brown Lace-Up Booties: H&M ($25)

Erica's turn!

What Erica's Wearing
Flower Hair Clip: H&M
Earrings: ALDO
Necklace: (gift)
Red Button Down: H&M (gift)
Cream Cropped Sweater: Forever 21 (thrifted $8)
Harem Pants: Macy's Material Girl ($30)
Legwarmers: Wet Seal ($3)
Olive Wedges: Old Navy ($6) <--- Hers! I was so jealous when she told me the price!

Everyone meet Erica! She is one of my best friends and, many times, the woman behind the camera! We had a sleepover one night and I decided that when we woke up, I would get her all done up for school. So I did her hair, picked out her outfit from my closet, and viola! My very first unofficial styling! How does she look? (From the comments made by other people, "a lot like me" was a very common answer!)

Our looks are just about the same with different color schemes and destination compatibilities. While my look is more casual, hers is more formal. I'd wear my outfit to school while she could wear hers to the office. I thought it was cool how two incredibly similar styles could function so differently.
