White has simply become my neutral of choice. It's easy, fresh, and easily brightens up every outfit. The heat was semi-unbearable today so I threw on this lightweight shirt to keep me cool while keeping the sun off my back. It worked!

Okay, so we're staying away from black on rainy days, right? If I had it the way I planned, even my umbrella wouldn't have been black... but I had to draw a line somewhere...

And yes, I said "planned" because when I saw this trench coat, my heart spoke to me. She said, in the sweetest voice I'd ever heard,

"Stephanie, you know she belongs in your closet, right? It'll be a rainy spring, you know? She looks like she's yearning to protect you from getting drenched. That's a nice looking trench!"

And from that point on, I developed the urge to splurge. Usually, I wouldn't have spent as much for anything as I did for this amazing trenchcoat, but, after two wears (and many to come in the future), it was sooooo worth it! (In the comments, take a guess at how much I paid.) And once I purchased it, I started to plan all my future outfits. I'm still looking for the perfect umbrella! I found one on totes but it sold out before I could snatch it up!

I had so much fun taking pictures in the rain! More than I anticipated!

I am a huge fan of 80's & 90's fashion trends. From the "dare-I-wear-this" prints and the high waisted mom jeans to the combat boots, shoulder pads, and retro windbreakers. I love it all. So every once in a while...and by "once in a while" I really mean "week"...I pay tribute to the decades of fashion that stole my heart.

This week, I turned a pair of high waisted mom jeans into some shorts, I dared to wear bright blue tights underneath a vertical striped pair, I brought out my [sister's] leather fossil bag (because who does vintage better than Fossil?), I fully equipped my shoulders with shoulder pads (just in case someone needed to "Lean On Me*"), and I rocked my vintage-esque sunnies (which seem to change color in the post, but, don't be fooled. I just borrowed Denzel's because they fit my outfit better. Hehe).

It's so hard to choose my favorite part of 80's & 90's fashion, because there was so much to love! Decades of fashion, this has been an appreciation post from someone who loves you immensely.

Talk about late... I wore this outfit on the Fourth...which turned out to be one of the best days of my summer. The entire day was just filled with fun in the sun, shopping, sparks flying, and lots of love. On the Fourth, I don't celebrate independence, I celebrate my family and loved ones. And I hope you all had a wonderful day with those who fit that category for you. :)

I went to see the fireworks for the first time in my life, and, I must say, it was frightening. I'm easily shaken by loud and unpredictable noises and I'm also not 100% comfortable in large crowds. However, I did enjoy them.
