Coincidentally, my friend Erica and I wore maxi skirts on the same day, and I decided that I'd feature her outfit as well since it was such a great summer to fall transitional outfit.

So, for anyone wondering how to wear a maxi skirt in the fall, here are two easy ways to do so while staying warm and chic!

Lesson #1: Go against the "norm" and create your own rules of accessorizing.
Lesson #2: Refer to Lesson #1.

To me, accessorizing is any additional thing that goes into the completion of an outfit. That includes jewelry, purses, shoes, glasses, makeup and your hairstyle. When I bought this dress, I knew that if I wanted to wear it as often as I planned to before winter--four times, that is--I'd have to do something very different with it each time... so that my multiple wears would be 1) justifiable (by me) and 2) forgiven (by me, again).

This is my second time wearing the dress. And I only bought it last week. Hehe... what can I say? I'm in love. I feel like a goddess in it... but I digress. My debut of the dress was as is. I didn't over accessorize or put much thought into how I wore it. However, I decided, to take the dress out one more time and put a little... well, more than a little spin on it. I pinned the multi-strand necklace to the shoulders of the dress (which seem to be made perfectly for an adjustment like this) and I really dove head first into dressing the part of a queen, because that is exactly how the dress make me feel.

And what better way to complete a striking dress that I'm head over heels for than with these lovely "Love Struck" Earrings from Ara Nicole Online Boutique!? Both complimented the outfit, as well as my other jewelry, just the way I needed them to.

What I'm Wearing
Scarf: XSRE | Earrings: Talbots | Ring: H&M
Bow Tie: (came with a thrifted blouse)
Black Open Cardigan: Old Navy ($4)
Teal Blouse: thrifted ($3)
Leather Skater Skirt: H&M ($24)

I won't say much in this post because the image that follows this small talk will say all I need to say. I love leather-whether it's real or imitation. As long as I look good in it, it's okay with me. I just recently purchased a leather panel skirt and a "replacement" leather jacket (both of which I adore). Now, this leather skirt is my absolute favorite item in my closet for many reasons (good and bad). Good: it goes with everything. Bad: it goes with everything -_-. Seriously. I've tried to get rid of some tops in my closet. Right before I throw them in the "Don't Want" pile, I think of what outfit I could wear them with and as soon as I try this skirt on with the top, I decide to keep it. Not the kind of progress I'd want to make if I was trying to clean out my closet, ya know?

And now, without further ado, 10 reasons why you should own something leather!
